A diminutive in -th, based on Proto-Albanian *wīja 'twisted, woven', from Proto-Indo-European *u̯ei 'to twist, to weave'. Cognate to Latin vīeō, Sanskrit वयति (váyati), Lithuanian výti, Slavic *viti[1].
