Etymology
First attested in the Hunmong jahoe (訓蒙字會 / 훈몽자회), 1527, as Middle Korean 트〮림〮 (Yale: thúlím). From 틀 (teul-, “to turn”) + 임 (-im).

- Phonetic hangul: [트(ː)림]
- Though still prescriptive in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
