1. to repent, to be penitent [+ إِلَى‎ (object) = to God] [+ عَنْ‎ (object) = sin] or [+ مِنْ‎ (object) = sin]

     falammā ʾafāqa qāla subḥānaka tubtu ʾilayka waʾana ʾawwalu l-muʾminīna

     And when he (Moses) awoke, he said: "Exalted are You! I have repented to You, and I am the first of believers!"
