2. to thank, acknowledge, express gratitude
   • Psalms 118:1, with translation of the Jewish Publication Society:

     ‏הוֹדוּ לַיהוָה כִּי־טוֹב כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃‎‎

     hodú laYHVH ki-tóv kí l'olám khasdó.
     hōḏū laYHWH kī-ṭōḇ kī ləʿōlām ḥasdō.

     ‘O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.’

   • Psalms 118:28, with translation of the Jewish Publication Society:

     ‏אֵלִי אַתָּה וְאוֹדֶךָּ אֱלֹהַי אֲרוֹמְמֶךָּ׃‎‎

     'elí 'atá v'odéka 'eloháy 'arom'méka.
     ʾēlī ʾattā wəʾōḏékkā ʾĕlōhay ʾărōməmékkā.

     Thou art my God, and I will give thanks unto Thee; Thou art my God, I will exalt Thee.
