  1. (biblical) the eleventh son of Joktan

      וְאֶת־אוֹפִר וְאֶת־חֲוִילָה וְאֶת־יוֹבָב כָּל־אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי יָקְטָן׃
      v-et Ofír v-et Ḥavilá v-et Yováv; kol éleh b'nei Yoqtán.
      and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan.
  2. Ophir (a biblical port, known for its gold production)
    • 1 Kings 10:11, with translation of the Jewish Publication Society:
      וְגַם אֳנִי חִירָם אֲשֶׁר־נָשָׂא זָהָב מֵאוֹפִיר הֵבִיא מֵאֹפִיר עֲצֵי אַלְמֻגִּים הַרְבֵּה מְאֹד וְאֶבֶן יְקָרָה׃

      I will make man more rare than fine gold, Even man than the pure gold of Ophir.
