拧(擰) [nǐng] 动

1. ■ （旋转） twist; screw:

拧紧螺丝 tighten up a screw;

拧开瓶盖 screw [twist] the cap off a bottle;

他把盖子拧得太紧， 我无法打开。 He has screwed the lid down so tightly that I can't get it off.

2. ■ （别扭; 抵触） differ; disagree; be at cross-purposes:

两人越说越拧。 The more they talked, the more they disagreed.

他总是跟大家拧着。 He is always at cross-purposes with others.
