From the Mediaeval Byzantine Greek ἀπόκρισις (apókrisis, “answer”), from the ancient Ancient Greek ἀπόκρισις (apókrisis, “decision, answer”). Synchronically analysable as απο- (apo-, “from”) + κρίση (krísi, “judgement, decision”).[1]
For the medical sense[2], Katharevousa ἀπόκρισις (apókrisis) from the ancient sense "excretion or secretion, separation"
