Upper Nubia
- The southern part of the ancient kingdom of Nubia, lying upstream of the second cataract of the Nile river and stretching southwards at least to the sixth cataract of the Nile; remained independent of Ancient Egypt during the Middle Kingdom period, but conquered during the New Kingdom. Corresponds roughly to the portion of Nubia lying within the present-day country of Sudan.
