Etymology
toiset (“others”) + -nsa (“3rd person possessive suffix”)

- Hyphenation: toi‧sen‧sa
- IPA(key): /ˈtoisensɑ(ʔ)/
Pronoun
toisensa (plural)
- (indefinite) [they ...] each other, one another
Usage notes
- Note that the nominative-looking form of this pronoun is the actual accusative form, i.e. it is used as the accusative plural:
- He näkivät toisiansa.
- They were seeing each other. (nähdä + partitive "to (be) see(ing), meet")
- He näkivät toisensa.
- They saw each other. (nähdä + accusative "to notice, perceive by seeing")
- He näkivät toisiansa.
Declension
- All the cases, except for the nominative, genitive and illative, have a shortened form (see the usage notes of -nsa). Both the forms are accepted in standard Finnish.
