Terwinselen
Dutch
Etymology
First attested as wunzelen around 1170-1180. Derived from Latin *vini cellam (“wine cellar”) or vinicella (“small vineyard”). An alternative hypothesis proposes a derivation from Latin vincam (“periwinkle, Vinca sp.”). Compare Vaals.
