Borrowed from Northern Italian articiocco, from Provençal archichaut, arquichaut, from Old Spanish alcarchofa, from Andalusian Arabic الْخَرْشُوف‎ (al-ẖaršúf), from Arabic الْخُرْشُوف‎ (al-ḵuršūf).[1][2]
