From international scientific vocabulary, reflecting New Latin combining forms: prosopo- + -graphy; from the Latin prosōpographia (description of a person’s appearance; description of an individual’s life), from the Ancient Greek πρόσωπον (prósōpon, face, person) + -γρᾰφῐ́ᾱ (-graphíā, writing, drawing). See also prosopon.
