  1. (dated) Abbreviation of not so good; chiefly used in reports and reviews of stage plays, television shows etc.
    • 1944 December 16, “Cleve. Show Fails to Click”, in The Billboard, volume 56, number 51, page 28:
      Palace Theater gross this week was n.s.g., due to weak stage layout. Most of the pull came from screen attraction. Show featured Charlie Barnet Band, Arthur Blake, Bunny Briggs and Cordyn and Sawyer.
