Albanian
Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *bukura, derivative of *buk- (“lush, lusty”), from Proto-Indo-European *bʰoHu- (“to grow, swell”), close to Proto-Germanic *būkaz (“belly, body”), compare Icelandic búkur (“torso”), English bouk, German Bauch, Old Czech buj (“mad, foolish”)). Similar sense development as with kolmë. Related to bukël. The Proto-Albanian root probably had a cognate in Dacian.[1]
