醒 [xǐng] 动

1. ■ （神志恢复正常） regain consciousness; sober up; come to:

酒醉未醒 be drunk and not sobered up yet;

输血后她很快就醒了过来。 She soon came to her senses after a blood transfusion.

她醒过来了。 She has come to.

我希望这杯咖啡能使他醒醒酒。 I hope this coffee may sober him up.

2. ■ （睡眠状态结束; 尚未入睡） wake up; be awake:

半睡半醒 between sleep and wake;

黎明即醒 wake with the dawn;

如梦初醒 like awakening from a dream;

老年人早晨醒得早。 Old people awaken early in the morning.

请在5点半叫醒我。 Please wake me up at five thirty.

他刚醒来就听见有人敲门。 He was scarcely awake when he heard the knock at the door.

他还醒着呢。 He is still awake.

我通常6点钟醒来。 I usually awake at six.
