都 [dōu] 副

1. ■ （表示总括全部） all:

关于这件事， 该说的我都说了。 I have said all there is to be said about it.

任何一件值得做的事都应该把它做好。 Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well.

2. ■ （跟“是”字合用， 说明理由） just because of:

都是你老磨蹭， 害得我们迟到了。 It was all because of your dawdling that we were late.

都是下雨， 运动会才延期的。 Just because of the rain, the sports meet was put off.

3. ■ （表示强调） even:

他连看都不看它一眼。 He didn't even look at it.

这种事连小孩都知道。 Even a child knows all this.

4. ■ （表示“已经”） already:

都8点了， 你还不走? It's already eight o'clock. Why don't you get a move on?

她都90岁了。 She's already ninety.
