跷(蹺) [qiāo] 动

1. ■ （抬起; 竖起） lift up (a leg); hold up (a finger):

跷起大拇指 hold up one's thumb in approval; thumbs up;

跷着腿坐着 sit with one's legs crossed

2. ■ （脚后跟抬起， 脚尖着地） on tiptoe:

跷着脚走路 walk on tiptoe;

她跷着脚走到孩子的床边。 She tiptoed to the bedside of the child.
