Etymology 2
A non-vulgar reanalysis of the above as an abbreviation of 현실 자각 타임 (hyeonsil jagak taim, “reality perception moment”).
The new interpretation retains a metaphoric extension of the original meaning, but in a non-sexual way. Many Koreans are not aware of the original etymology, and the word has appeared in TV programs for general audiences.
