First attested in the Seokbo sangjeol (釋譜詳節 / 석보상절), 1447, as Middle Korean ᄯᅡᇂ〮 (Yale: stáh). This form is the regular reflex thereof. Compare 땅 (ttang), originally a dialectal form.
