Etymology

The Gyeongsang dialect form of Standard Central Korean 남이야 (nam-iya, “as for other people”), which apparently spread into Seoul Korean in the late twentieth century with South Korean modernization.

(colloquial, derogatory) Used in place of 남이야 (nam-iya, “as for other people”) when dismissing people who are too nosy, with a connotation of "none of your business".

Usage notes
