Etymology
Calque of Sanskrit नैवसंज्ञानासंज्ञायतन (naivasaṃjñānāsaṃjñāyatana) or Pali nevasaññānāsaññāyatana, both literally meaning “the sphere of neither conceptualization nor non-conceptualization”.
Tibetan equivalent is འདུ་ཤེས་མེད་འདུ་ཤེས་མེད་མིན་སྐྱེ་མཆེད ('du shes med 'du shes med min skye mched).
