Etymology
From Zhuang Baksaek, which is composed of bak (“mouth”) and saek (“to block”) – "blocked mountain pass". Alternatively, it may instead be composed of bak (“mouth”) and saeg (“to wash clothes”) – "the place where clothes are washed".
