Compound of 気 (ki, “air, gas; spirit”) + 学 (gaku, “study”).
Noun
気学 (hiragana きがく, rōmaji kigaku)
- kigaku: a form of fortune-telling based on Chinese twelve year zodiac cycle calendar and the five traditional elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.
- (engineering, uncommon) pneumatics (as a subject of study)
- Synonym: 空気力樂 (kūki ryokugaku) (also glossed as aerodynamics)
