Chinese

  There were not even the voices of people coming and going.

- 1915, 夏目漱石, 道草:
  そうして人 (ひと)の通 (とお)らない往来 (おうらい)を一人 (ひとり)で歩 (ある)く気 (き)でそこいら中 (じゅう)馳 (か)け廻 (まわ)った。
  Sōshite hito no tōranai ōrai o hitori de aruku ki de sokoirajū kakemawatta.
  Then, wishing to walk alone, I went up and down a road devoid of travelers.

中国政府 (ちゅうごくせいふ)は、台湾 (たいわん)といかなる国 (くに)の政 (せい)府 (ふ)との往来 (おうらい)にも反対 (はんたい)する。
Chūgoku seifu wa, Taiwan to ikanaru kuni no seifu to no ōrai ni mo hantai suru.
The government of China also opposes Taiwan's association with the government any other country.
