        Eikoku no gyakuten wa kiwamete muzukashī jōkyō datta. Gibu appu ga mitomerarete-ori, aite o sonchō suru fea purē seishin ni nottotte Eikoku ga “konshīdo (kōsan)” o sengen shita.

        “Nankai mo nankai mo akirameyō, gibu appu shitai to omotta. Dakedo, rinku kara ie ni kaeri, musume ga waratte kureteitari suru to, “kekka ga dō deare, akiramenai to iu koto wa sugoku taisetsu na koto da” to iu koto o tsutaetai to omō yō ni natta” to furi kaeru.
        “Again and again I wanted to resign, to give up. But when I would leave the rink and go home, my daughter would smile at me, so I wanted to convey the message, ‘No matter the result, it is very important never to quit,’” she reflected.
