オフレコ (rōmaji ofureko)

1. something off the record, a secret or private communication, confidential information
   • 2005, Yamami Hiroyasu, Kōbu katsudō no subete [All about Public Relations]:

     「これは(本 (ほん)当 (とう)に)オフレコですよ。書 (か)かないでください」と確認 (かくにん)が必要 (ひつよう)。

     “Kore wa (hontō ni) ofureko desu yo. Kakanaide kudasai” to kakunin ga hitsuyō.

     It's important to verify, “This is (truly) off the record. Please don’t write it.”
