Etymology
From Demotic wḥj, earlier hieroglyphic
wḥꜣt (also meaning “cauldron”). Compare Bohairic Coptic ⲟⲩⲁϩⲓ (ouahi), Sahidic Coptic ⲟⲩⲁϩⲉ (ouahe), and Arabic واحة (wāḥa).
