Etymology

Borrowed from Bactrian *Huxšaθra- (literally “Of good reign”)[1], composed of *hu- (“good”) + *xšaθra- (“reign, kingdom”). Doublet of Ὀξυάθρης (Oxuáthrēs), which is from Old Persian.
