Etymology
ᄀᆞ로 (kolwo, “horizontally”) + 디다 (tita, “to fall”), from Middle Korean ᄀᆞᄅᆞ디다 (kolo tita). “To die an unnatural death” is a calque of Chinese 橫死 (literally “to die horizontally”).
