Etymology
From Middle Georgian მორიელი (morieli, “poisonous spider, tarantula (?)”). According to G. Asatur (a personal communication to Ačaṙyan), borrowed from Middle Armenian մոր (mor), մորմ (morm, “a kind of poisonous spider”) possibly with suffix -იელი (-ieli, “type of, from the family of”).
