Etymology
From Proto-Kartvelian *b(o)rʒ₁-. Cognate with Mingrelian ბურჯ-აფ-ი (burǯ-ap-i, “struggle, battle, wrestle”) and Svan ლი-ბურჯ-იე̄-ლ (li-burǯ-iē-l, “fighting (of bulls); butting with horns”).[1][2]

Furthermore such derivation was described as implausible by Fähnrich.
