From Old Khmer jnaḥ (“to overcome; to win; to conquer; etc”) or Old Mon jnaḥ (“to be victorious”). Extended as Thai ชำนะ. Cognate with Modern Khmer ឈ្នះ (chnĕəh), Lao ຊະນະ (sa na).
