Etymology

Inherited from Early Assamese *কড়াহি (koṛahi), from Magadhi Prakrit *𑀓𑀟𑀸𑀳 (*kaḍāha), from Sanskrit কটাহ (kaṭāha). Cognate with Sylheti ꠇꠠꠣꠁ (xoṛai), Bengali কড়া (kôṛa), Hindustani کڑھائی‎ / कढ़ाई (kaṛhāī).
