আফতাব
Bengali
Etymology
Borrowed from Classical Persian آفتاب (“sunlight”), which is from Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (ʾptʾb /āftāb/, “sunshine”) (compare [Psalter Pahlavi needed] (ʾpdʾb /ābdāb/)), from Proto-Iranian *abi-tāpáh; ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *tep- (“to heat, to be warm”).[1] Doublet of তাপ (tap). Cognate with Uyghur ئاپتاپ (aptap) and Yagnobi офтоб (oftob).
