Etymology
From Old Marathi वाजणे (vājaṇe), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀯𑀚𑁆𑀚𑀇 (vajjaï), from Sanskrit वाद्यते (vādyate). Compare Gujarati વાગવું (vāgvũ), Hindi बजना (bajnā), Nepali बज्नु (bajnu), Assamese বজা (boza).
