Etymology
From a derivative of Sanskrit अवगलति (avagalati) (compare Old Marathi 𑘌𑘽𑘐𑘯 (oṁgaḷa), 𑘪𑘻𑘽𑘐𑘯 (voṁgaḷa, “dirty; filthy; bad; impure”)). Compare Gujarati ઓગળવું (ogaḷvũ), ઓગાળવું (ogāḷvũ), Hindi ओगल (ogal).[1]
