Ultimately from Sanskrit निर्वाहयति (nirvāhayati)[1][2]. Compare Gujarati નિભાવવું (nibhāvvũ), Hindustani نِبَھانَا / निभाना (nibhānā), Sindhi نِڀائِڻُ / निभाइणु, Punjabi ਨਿਭਾਉਣਾ (nibhāuṇā) / نِبھاؤݨا (nibhāauṇā).
