An Old Aramaic plural formation dating back to the 2nd millennium BCE from ܢܨܝܒ (nəṣīḇ, “erected, planted”, adjective) from the root ܢ-ܨ-ܒ (n-ṣ-b) cognate to the Arabic ن ص ب (n-ṣ-b).
