Etymology

Plural of معروض‎ (maruz), from Arabic مَعْرُوض‎‎ (maʿrūḍ), passive participle of عَرَضَ‎ (ʿaraḍa, “to appear, happen, show”). By the end of Ottoman times the singular and plural had diverged in meaning.

     Muhterem efendiler: Şimdiye kadar, vuku bulan maruzatım, şahsen ve heyeti temsiliye namına, temas ettiğim vakıa ve hadisatın izahına matuf idi.
