Etymology
Equivalent to the active participle of تعوّد (tʕawwad, “to get used to”).

- الولد متعوّد إنّه يصحى وما يلاقي أهله بالبيت لإنهم بيروحوا عالشغل بكّير.
- il-walad mitʕawwed ʔinno yiṣḥɑ w-mā ylāʔi ʔahlo bil-bēt laʔinhom birūḥu ʕaš-šuḡl bakkīr.
- The boy is used to waking up and not finding his parents at home because they go to work early.
Usage notes
- The preposition على (ʕala) is used to say that someone is used to "something".
- The conjunction إنّـ (ʔinn-) is used to say that someone is used to "doing something".
