Etymology
From شرب (širib, “to drink”), with the adjectival or participial measure فعلان (fiʿlān). Compare Maltese xurban.

- drunk; tipsy
- (only with following object) drinking; having (a drink of any sort)
Usage notes
- Usually refers to a lesser state of drunkenness than سكران (sikrān).
