tarmīhim biḥijāratin min sijjīlin - And He sent against them birds in flocks,
striking them with stones of hard clay

- فَلَمْ تَقْتُلُوهُمْ وَلٰكِنَّ ٱللّٰهَ قَتَلَهُمْ وَمَا رَمَيْتَ إِذْ رَمَيْتَ وَلٰكِنَّ ٱللّٰهَ رَمَى وَلِيُبْلِيَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْهُ بَلَاءً حَسَنًا إِنَّ ٱللّٰهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
- fa-lam taqtulūhum wa-lākinna llāha qatalahum wa-mā ramayta ʾiḏ ramayta wa-lākinna llāha ramā wa-li-yubliya l-muʾminīna minhu balāʾan ḥasanan ʾinna llāha samīʿun ʿalīmun
- And you did not kill them, but it was Allah who killed them. And you threw not, [O Muhammad], when you threw, but it was Allah who threw that He might test the believers with a good test. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

- wa-man yaksib ḵaṭīʾatan ʾaw ʾiṯman ṯumma yarmi bihi barīʾan fa-qadi ḥtamala buhtānan wa-ʾiṯman mubīnan
- But whoever earns an offense or a sin and then blames it on an innocent has taken upon himself a slander and manifest sin.

- وَٱلَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ ٱلْمُحْصَنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَأْتُوا بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَاءَ فَٱجْلِدُوهُمْ ثَمَانِينَ جَلْدَةً وَلَا تَقْبَلُوا لَهُمْ شَهَادَةً أَبَدًا وَأُولٰئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَاسِقُونَ
- wa-llaḏīna yarmūna l-muḥṣanāti ṯumma lam yaʾtū bi-ʾarbaʿati šuhadāʾa fa-jlidūhum ṯamānīna jaldatan wa-lā taqbalū lahum šahādatan ʾabadan wa-ʾulāʾika humu l-fāsiqūna
- And those who accuse chaste women and then do not produce four witnesses: lash them with eighty lashes and do not accept from them testimony ever after. And those are the defiantly disobedient.
