Etymology
A more Islamic rendition of خدا حافظ (xudā ħafiz), from Persian خدا حافظ (khodā hāfez) ('May the Lord be your protector'), from خدا (khodā) (lord) + حافظ (hāfez) (keeper, protector), from Arabic حَافِظ (ḥāfiẓ) (keeper, caretaker), from حَفَظَ (ḥafaẓa) (to preserve, to protect, to defend).
