اِغْتَمَّ • (iḡtamma) VIII, non-past يَغْتَمُّ (yaḡtammu)
- to be affected by grief, to be sad
- 7th century CE, Ṣaḥīḥ al-Buḵāriyy, 67:98:
- حَتَّى تَصَدَّعُوا كُلُّهُمْ عَنْهَا، فَخَرَجَ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ خَرَجَ، وَبَقِيَ نَفَرٌ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ قَالَ وَجَعَلْتُ أَغْتَمُّ،
- ḥattā taṣaddaʿū kulluhum ʿanhā, faḵaraja minhum man ḵaraja, wabaqiya nafarun yataḥaddaṯūna qāla wajaʿaltu ʾaḡtammu,
- When all of them had finished their meals some of them left and a bunch remained talking which made me dolorous.
