- 7th century CE, Ṣaḥīḥ al-Buḵāriyy, 85:2:
- إِيَّاكُمْ وَٱلظَّنَّ، فَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ أَكْذَبُ ٱلْحَدِيثِ، وَلَا تَحَسَّسُوا، وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا، وَلَا تَبَاغَضُوا، وَلَا تَدَابَرُوا، وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ ٱللَّـهِ إِخْوَانًا.
- ʾiyyākum waẓ-ẓanna, faʾinna ẓ-ẓanna ʾakḏabu l-ḥadīṯi, walā taḥassasū, walā tajassasū, walā tabāḡaḍū, walā tadābarū, wakūnū ʿibāda l-lahi ʾiḵwānan.
