Root
שׁ־ו־ב‎ (š-w-b)

From the root ש-ו-ב. Cognate with Ugaritic 𐎘𐎁 (ṯb, “to return”).

Verb

שָׁב • (sháv) (pa'al construction) (intransitive)

1. to return (to go back to a place or person)
   • Exodus 4:19, with translation of the King James Version:

     לֵךְ שֻׁב מִצְרָיִם

     lech shuv mitsráyim

     Go, return into Egypt

2. to return (to go back in narration, argument, or thought)
3. to repent
