A lone democracy in the Middle East, first with a military government and then with a military dictatorship; a darling of the free world but with the last colonialism in the world; an honored member of the family of nations that violates almost all international laws; does not annex the occupied territories in order to create the illusion of transience; boasts of the rule of law and the Supreme Court, but with a separate set of laws according to nationality; Jewish and democratic, but with a built-in, irreconcilable contradiction.
