1. (intransitive) (He/it) grew: third-person masculine singular vav-consecutive imperfect (hence past tense) of גָּדַל‎ (gadál).
   • Exodus 2:10, with translation of the King James Version:

     וַיִגְדַּל הַיֶּלֶד וַתְּבִאֵהוּ לְבַת פַּרְעֹה וַיְהִי לָהּ לְבֵן

     vayigdál hayéled vat'viéhu l'vat par'ó vay'hí lah l'ven

     And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son.

     vaygadél YHVH et sh'lomó l'má'la l'ené kol yisraél

     And the LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel
