Etymology

As shown by the -այ (-ay) ending, borrowed via Classical Syriac ܦܝܠܘܣܘܦܐ‎ (pīlōsōp̄ā) from Ancient Greek φιλόσοφος (philósophos). Doublet of փիլիսոփոս (pʿilisopʿos).
