Etymology

From հ- (h-) +‎ զօր (zōr). Otherwise, wholly borrowed from Middle Iranian *huzōr, with the same meaning. In any case, the Iranian influence is undeniable.

1. strong, powerful, mighty, vigorous, valiant; robust, lusty, stout; potent, energetic, efficacious

   հզօրն, հզօրն երկնից եւ երկրի ― hzōrn, hzōrn erknicʿ ew erkri ― the Almighty, Omnipotent

   հզօրք ― hzōrkʿ ― the mighty of the earth

   հզօր զօրութեամբ ― hzōr zōrutʿeamb ― very strong, most valiant, mighty

   հզօր թեւարկու ― hzōr tʿewarku ― a professed or open protector

     Ayl goy inčʿ ew yawjin bari, zi imastun ē; ew yaṙewcn, zi hzawr ē; ew yočʿxarn, zi handart ē.
